We are planning a pilgrimage to the Holy Land for cathedral members and friends this spring, April 14-27. This will be after Easter, which will be April 4. It will be spring, and "spring is a beautiful time to be in Israel," says the Dean.
The pilgrimage will include a two-week course, "The Bible and Its Setting," at St. George's College in East Jerusalem. We will spend the morning in class and then visit places we studied in the afternoon. For example, we could eat fish on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, spend a night in Nazareth, visit the traditional site of Jesus' birth, touch the top of the hill called Golgotha and walk on the steps Jesus walked to enter the Second Temple. There may be some additional offerings organized by Dr. Henry Carse, director of special projects for St. George's. Some pilgrims may also have an opportunity to spend a night in he Negev desert.
The cost of the course is $2750, which will include full room and board, local transportation and admissions. Airfare will be an additional cost. Some scholarship funds may be available. For more information, contact Kathy Noe.
