Because we are a cathedral, our presiding priest carries the title of dean. The priests who report to the dean are usually called canons. Along with Dean James Diamond, we have two full time priests. They each have different responsibilities.

The Rev. Canon Myrick “Rick” Cross is the canon vicar. He is responsible for the cathedral administrative functions as they relate to worship, education and pastoral care.

The Rev. Canon Joanna Leiserson is the canon for Christian formation. She oversees the children’s Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, the youth programs and the adult education and discussion programs.

We also have three priests who work part time at the cathedral. The Rev. Canon William “Bill” Scrivener is the canon for the Children’s Hospital ministry and is responsible for Remember Our Child, a program that helps parents live with the loss of a child. The Rev. Canon Robert “Bob” Gerhard is a pastoral assistant and the Rev. Canon Wesley Hinton is the assistant for pastoral care.
