Center of Reconciliation

“…forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you.”—Mark 11:25

In setting forth his vision for Christ Church Cathedral in September 2000, Dean James Diamond said his highest ambition is that we become known as a center of reconciliation. A few months later that ambition was put to the test when the shooting of a young black man by a white police officer provoked racial disturbances in Cincinnati. The cathedral opened its doors to help heal the wounds---an effort that is continuing to this day.

But the cathedral’s role as a center of reconciliation extends far beyond Cincinnati. Through his role in the Community of the Cross of Nails, Dean Diamond has been active in the effort to achieve peace to the Middle East. We pray for our enemies as we remember those we love and those who have died in violence and war.

We also know that reconciliation begins at home so we work on that process among ourselves through our relationship building program.

Reconciliation ministries are rooted in the work of the Community of the Cross of Nails.
