Social Justice: A Moral VoiceOur commitment to the work of social justice is ongoing. In the past, we have held seminars on values-based public policy and health care reform. And for years, we have been committed to The Amos Project, which works to solve local social problems. More recently, we founded an interfaith coalition to fight global atrocities by use of a moral voice. Last fall, we held a Darfur Sunday worship service with prayers to bring peace and comfort to the Sudan people and to raise awareness about the killings in Darfur. Last winter, our coalition presented a symposium with Nick Clooney. Using the holocaust in Darfur as a starting point, the symposium included a panel discussion on the need to raise a moral voice to end global atrocities. |
