Ways We Serve

Let not the needy ... be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor taken away."The Book of Common Prayer

Each year, we contribute time, energy and dollars for programs that serve those in need in our community and beyond. These programs are ones we run ourselves, such as our 5000 Club food ministry or our Plumb Line rental assistance ministry, or ones run by area agencies.

Our primary focus is on (1) services for disadvantaged and abused children and youth; (2) services that meet basic human needs, health care and housing; (3) services to address the needs found within our own neighborhood; and (4) services that promote reconciliation, social justice and advocacy.

Financial Support from the Cathedral

We give thousands of dollars in outreach grants to various organizations each year. If your organization would like to seek funding from the cathedral, contact Tom Kent. In recent months, we have awarded $7,000 to the Dominican AIDS Project and $645 in support of the Betts House summer program, which introduces inner city youth to the building trades.
