Our 5000 Club Food Ministry

"I bent down to them and fed them." -Hosea 11:4

Our 5000 Club food ministry began in the spring of 2006 as an effort to provide the hospitality of a weekly evening meal to those who in live in our neighborhood, including those without a home to call their own. The program quickly grew to where we are serving close to 200 meals a week, thanks to a strong corp of volunteers. They range from members of our cathedral and other area churches to individuals who simply want to help.

We also collect socks, underwear, gloves and personal care products, all items that can easily be distributed during the weekly dinners.

Join our volunteers. Make a donation. Learn more about our new homeless assistance program.

Evening Prayer

Each Tuesday, we hold a simple evening prayer service at 4:40 p.m. before the doors open for our 5000 Club community suppers. This service offers a time to connect with God at the end of the day, and also a time for cathedral members, downtown workers and residents, and the Tuesday supper community guests and volunteers to meet one another, to gather and worship together as one Body in Christ. If you are interested in being an usher or reader for this service, please contact Canon Joanna Leiserson.
